Those blonde baby curls!
Soft and sweet - they just don't last long enough.
In fact, they are already gone.
Two baby hair-cuts later, his hair is a shade darker and a little more coarse;
the softness has been replaced with that copper-penny smell
of a boy who's been playing outside in the wind and sun.
It's a fair trade in my book
because I love that smell almost as much
as those soft blonde curls.
